Description

Pangs Theater Ensemble will perform the "Rural Trilogy" of plays by Spain's treasured poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca - Blood Wedding, Yerma, and House of Bernarda Alba.

Blood Wedding is a story of love turned tragic because of traditional, oppressive social structures and family rivalry. Blood Wedding will be performed on July 18 and 26.

Yerma tells the tale of a virtuous woman oppressed by traditional society. It explores the subjects of marriage, childbearing, and suffering under an orthodox social system. Yerma will be performed on July 19 and August 1.

The House of Bernarda Alba is a play about brutal repression, sexual jealousy, maternal control and finally death, in which a tyrant widow locks her daughters away from the outside world. House of Bernarda Alba will be performed on July 25 and August 2.
