New writing group forming, looking for a few good fiction writers to talk about writing fiction. Be: currently working on a novel or short stories; interested in contemporary literary fiction and ideas; a serious reader. Know: how to use words to say what you mean; how to laugh, how to cry, how to channel the supreme power of the universe; how to take and give honest feedback. Have: appetite for rowdy conversation over drinks; time to commit to two evenings per month. NO: wimps, genre writers (no offense), balloon heads. Purpose: solidarity, idea exchange, friendly ass kicking (as necessary). Location: a pub or house near North Oakland/Berkeley area.
