The IMAX Theatre at Metreon's first for San Francisco and the largest 3D screen in the world. Metreon's IMAX Theatre features both 2-D and 3-D capabilities and boasts a huge 80' x 100' screen, seating 600 people in its 2-D configuration and 480 people for the 3-D configuration.

The IMAX film format is the world’s largest, with a frame size triple that of standard 35mm movie film, providing a projected image of unsurpassed depth, perception and clarity. To achieve the 3-D effect, moviegoers will wear lightweight headsets with liquid crystal shutters that can quickly change from opaque to transparent, immersing viewers in an unprecedented 3-D film experience.

Tickets for Loews Theatres Metreon and the IMAX Theatre are available at the box office in the Metreon Gateway on the ground floor and at the theatre lobby on the third floor.
