Description
The Kind Women for Womankind: An Art Auction to Benefit Women of Violence will be unveiled and silent bidding will begin on April 24, 2008 at Industrielle Gallery and online at www.industriellegallery.com. It will include artwork donated from Bay Area women artists including, Elisa Carozza, Ann Marie Donahue, Lynn Ganser, Maya Kabat, Jessica Serran, Dana Taylor, Charlene Thomas and Mary Younkin, amongst others. Attendees will enjoy horsdeuvres and spirits, as well as entertainment by local belly dancer Tina Turrini and an original modern dance piece performed by Amy Shoemaker called "A Dance on Behalf of" inspired by Edwina Sandy's sculpture "Christa" and is dedicated to women and girls everywhere effected by violence.

Proceeds from the Kind Women for Womankind auction will benefit CARE.org, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty and injustice.
