Description
We are currently looking to recruit a couple of writers to join our established writing group. Although we appreciate different types of writing, the group is limited to the short story, novel, memoir, and personal essay. Our goals are to improve writing skills, complete projects, maintain motivation and, of course, getting published. We meet every other Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Submissions are distributed before meetings via email, and then the group gives constructive feedback (both oral and written) during meetings. We also discuss the writing process, story ideas/brainstorming, share reading lists and occasionally do writing exercises. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive. Although prior publication is not required, we expect a certain level of writing and critiquing experience. We also require a commitment to regularly attend meetings and fulfill writing/critiquing assignments. There are no fees. If interested, send email.
